1. Remove the axle and hub from the rear end housing in the
usual manner. Remove the studs to take the drum off of the hub.
2. Install the button head bolts in the aluminum spacers (80
lbs. torque) Press the wheel studs into the hub along with the aluminum spacer
3. Install the new vented rotors on the hub using the 5/8 flat
washers and nuts (100 lbs.)
4. Bolt the base brackets to the housing using the (4) 1/2 Ð
20 x 5 & 5 1/2 bolts, lock washers, flat washers and nuts. The bracket is
spaced to the inside of the car. Put all 6 bolts in loose and then tighten.
5. Reinstall the hub and rotor assembly and check for runout
in the rotor .005 or less is good. Install the calipers just like they are
installed in the front.
6. The calipers move every time the brakes are applied and as
the pads wear. We recommend using a flexible brake hose; this also makes it
easier to change pads.
Before you disconnect the rear lines, pinch off the rubber
line between the frame and axle. This will keep the fluid in the lines and
make it easier when you bleed the system.
You must remove the calipers from the bracket and gravity
bleed. See troubleshooting sheet.
