Installation Instructions

  1. Remove the drum, hub and backing plates.
  2. Bolt the base brackets to the spindles using the 9/16 bolts, nuts washers and cotter pins.
  3. Bolt the top bracket to the base bracket with the 3/16 spacer between the welded sleeves on the top bracket facing the wheel.
  4. Install the hub and set the bearings in the usual way.
  5. Screw the wheel studs into the hub and put the jamb nuts on the back side to hold in place.
  6. Install the rotors.
  7. Install the calipers so that the bleed screw is facing up, if it is facing down use the other caliper. Make sure the projections on the bottom of the calipers don’t touch the bracket.
  8. Use a flexible brake line to each caliper as they move with pad wear and when the brakes are applied.
  9. Bleed the brakes and try out. If the back wheels skid before the fronts you should install an adjustable proportioning valve to reduce the pressure to the rear brakes (follow gravity bleeding instructions in troubleshooting sheet especially for rear calipers).
